Consultation opens for Clutha’s draft Annual Plan 2025/26
Consultation has opened for Clutha District Council’s draft Annual Plan for the 2025-26 year and people are invited to get involved and provide their feedback.
Council is proposing some minor changes that differ from what was forecast for this financial year in the Long Term Plan 2024/34 (LTP) that was adopted last year, and we’re keen to hear from residents and ratepayers.
The Annual Plan Consultation Document was approved by Council on Thursday 20 March 2025 and included a projected average rates increase of 16.61%. This was slightly less than what was forecasted in the LTP due to savings identified by council of just over 3%.
The easiest way to read the consultation document, supporting information and give us your feedback is to visit www.cluthadc.govt.nz/2025-planning and fill in the online form. Make sure to give your feedback by 14 April 2025, so that Council can consider this ahead of making final decisions for the Annual Plan 2025/26 at a meeting on 15 May 2025.
In developing the LTP we identified there would be financial pressures associated with our infrastructure, with 89% of the projected rate increases attributed to roading, waste management and three waters, which primarily affect urban communities.
Council is also consulting on proposed fees and charges for the 2025-26 year and you can read more about on our website: www.cluthadc.govt.nz/2025-planning.
