Community Funding
There are several ways that Council helps to support and fund community organisations across the Clutha District. Council has a Policy on Community Funding, which provides clarity for organisations, staff and elected members about how funding can be requested, and criteria for applications.
A Council funding contribution can empower local communities to deliver the outcomes they feel are important. It enhances community well-being and helps to achieve Council’s vision for Clutha to be a great place to live, work and play.
The main categories of community funding are described below. Funding is normally approved through a long term or annual plan process in May – June each year. However, staff work with groups throughout the year to help them access funding (including preparing applications to other agencies).
