Chorus Cabinet Art is coming to Clutha District
Cabinet art is coming to Clutha and now is the time for artist to get designing.
Chorus is partnering with Clutha District Council to transform two cabinets this year and artists are encouraged to get their designs in before the deadline of August 31.
Chorus Community Relations Manager Jo Seddon says that it makes sense to partner with local councils, as they know their communities best and have the same goal in mind to discourage graffiti vandalism.
“We are really pleased that Clutha District Council wants to partner with us this year, so we work together to beautify the streets of their local communities.”
These cabinets become works of art, often telling stories about the communities they are located and help to discourage tagging.
Mayor Bryan Cadogan says this is a wonderful opportunity and welcomes the cabinet art programme to the Clutha district this year.
“The initiative is a win-win not only for our community but for our up and coming local artists as it gives them a chance to showcase their talents.”
Community Relations Manager Jo Seddon says, “Artists can find the chosen cabinets and how to apply on our dedicated Cabinet Art website.”
“We know there are a lot of talented artists out there and we really encourage them to get their designs in before submissions close on 31 August.”
Design submissions are now open and the winning design for each cabinet will be chosen from entries received.
