Results of Residents Satisfaction Survey released

Results of the annual Clutha District Residents Satisfaction Survey have now been released.

Clutha District Mayor Bryan Cadogan says the results will help the Council to determine what is being done well and where improvements can be made.

“The survey is an important tool for us to find out what people think about what we’re doing now and this can help us to make decisions about what we do in the future.”

The annual survey asks a random selection of residents to rate the council on a range of things, including services and facilities, infrastructure and performance of staff and councillors.

Among the key findings of this year’s survey:

100% satisfied with community libraries

92% satisfied with Mt Cooee landfill

90% satisfied with the wheelie bin service

91% satisfied with Balclutha Pool

91% satisfied with cemeteries

91% satisfied with district parks and reserves

“It’s fantastic to see our libraries score so highly - it’s rare to receive 100% satisfaction. It’s also pleasing to see some of our other core services and facilities being highly appreciated by the community,” Mayor Cadogan says.

Overall satisfaction with the performance of the Clutha District Council was 66%.

Among the lowest scores were: maintenance of sealed roads (65%), footpaths (59%), being able to have a say in Council decision-making and planning (52%), maintenance of unsealed roads (47%), value for money from rates (46%).

“There is always room for improvement and we’ll be using the results to look at how we can do better,” Mayor Cadogan says.
