Tapanui – Boil water reminder
Council reminds consumers that a boil water notice is in place for Tapanui. This is due to treatment difficulties at the plant.
Update 02/04/2025
The works have been completed and testing will be carried out this week.
Council continues to test for e coli and other bacteria and these results are available here.
Water tank:
A water tanker is available in Tapanui, next to PGG where you can fill your own clean containers with drinking water.
This notice will be in place until we are satisfied that the water being received at the plant is consistently clear. We will provide an update when we are able to do so.
Our boil water FAQs is available at www.cluthadc.govt.nz/boil-water-faqs
Summer water restrictions end:
The change in season, recent rainfall and cooler weather means all water restrictions, including Tapanui's stage 2 water restrictions, have been lifted.
Water restrictions are put in place each year from 1 December and remain in place until they are reviewed in late March or if dry conditions affect water supply.
We appreciate your efforts to conserve water during these dry times. Thank you to everyone who helped conserve water and followed the water restrictions during our dry summer season.
