Upcoming Road Closure - Whitehaven Street, Lawrence

UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURE – WHITEHAVEN STREET, LAWRENCE

Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th March 2025, 8am – 5pm
As part of the Lawrence/Tuapeka Water Scheme project

Council's contractors, Rutter Civil Limited, will be connecting a newly installed watermain to existing services on Whitehaven Street, Lawrence, as part of the Lawrence/Tuapeka Water Scheme. The work will take place on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th March 2025, between 8am and 5pm.

Temporary Traffic Management in Place:

• The intersection of Thurso Street to Whitehaven Street will be closed.
• Detours will be in place, and resident access to 61-82 Whitehaven Street will be maintained.
• Access to the Aquatic Centre will be via pedestrian access only.

Weather and Delays:
In the event of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, work may be delayed. Any changes or delays will be communicated to residents promptly.

Impact on Traffic:
Although efforts will be made to minimise disruption to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic, please be aware that heavy machinery will be operating in the area.
