Water shutdown Complete - Chaucer Street, Milton
Update: 5:00pm, Thursday 13 March
The mains break on Chaucer Street, Milton has now been repaired and water supply has been switched on.
Sometimes water works can stir up sediment in the pipes or create air pockets in the pipes. If you notice that your water is discoloured or there is air in your pipes, please turn on one outside tap and run it until the water runs clear.
If you have any concerns please phone Council on 0800 801 350.
Thank you for your understanding while we completed these necessary repairs.

Urgent water shutdown for mains break repair
Chaucer Street, Milton (between Shakespeare St & Cowper St)
2:00pm, Thursday 13 March 2025
Our contractors have had to shutdown the water in a section of Chaucer Street, Milton, to complete an urgent mains break repair this afternoon.
It is anticipated that this shutdown will affect properties on both sides of Chaucer Street, between the Shakespeare Street and Cowper Street intersections.
At this stage we cannot provide a timeframe for this work, however our contractors are anticipating that water will be switched back on by 5:00pm. We will provide an update once repairs have been made and the water is switched back on.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause.
Thank you for your patience while we work to repair this burst mains pipe.
