Richardson South & Kaka Point residents - Boil Water Reminder
Council reminds consumers in Richardson South and Kaka Point residents that a boil water notice is in place.
This was due to the treatment plant having difficulty meeting the increased demand levels following mechanical problems at the plant.
Reduced supply is impacting stock welfare needs. We apologise for the inconvenience but please understand this is a last resort decision to provide water to stock on this scheme.
Anyone using water from their tap for consumption (including teeth cleaning and washing fruit and vegetables) should boil it for 1 minute before it is used.
There is a water tanker available at Kaka Point at Beach Street, adjacent to the Fire Station where you can fill your own clean containers with drinking water.
This notice will be in place until we are satisfied that the water being processed at the plant is consistently compliant.
Please share this information with any family or neighbours that may not be aware.
