Tapanui moves to Stage 2 water restrictions
As we enter warmer temperatures typical of summer, water consumption has increased. Council has decided to move Tapanui into Stage 2 water restrictions. This will also give the reservoir time to recover following the treatment plant problem that required Council to issue a conserve water notice last week. This conserve notice is still in place.
What do water restrictions mean?
Under Stage 2, sprinklers and irrigation systems are banned and only handheld watering is permitted, between the hours of 8pm and 8am. Handheld watering systems can not be left unattended.
Please remember to follow the restrictions, fix leaks at your place and report any public leaks or if you notice anyone not adhering to the water restrictions to Council on 0800 801 350 or through Antenno.
Thank you to all of those that are already doing their bit to conserve water this summer. Council will review the restrictions and the reservoir levels on a weekly basis.
