Milton Main Street update: 21 November – 27 November 2024
The under grounding of Milton’s main street overhead lines will have minor impacts for traffic between 21 November – 27 November 2024.
A crew is working on the east side of Union Street, laying water pipe in the footpath from Abercrombie Street to Springfield St intersection. This work will continue until the 20th December.
Cross Street and Springfield Road may be closed at various times for short periods for the laying of water pipe.
Andrew Haulage will be reinstating the stormwater trench on the east side of Union St between Abercrombie and Jura St on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Powernet are working on the east and west side of Union Street in the footpath connecting streetlights and property connections . These connections are being completed with local business' consent and requests to prevent disruption to business hours. This work will continue until the start of December.
A second crew from Andrew Haulage will be working between Shakespeare Street to Springfield Street, both sides of the road connecting Toby boxes to the watermain.
Traffic will be able to travel in both directions along Union Street but there will be safety measures and a 30km speed restriction in place.
There is a possibility of uncovering pre 1900 infrastructure items that are subject to archaeological discovery protocols. In these instances, it will delay the construction progress.
